Canon 30D Raw conversion: DPP burns highlights

I own a Canon 30D DSLR since August 2007. At the begining, I used to shot in JPEG mode, but I quickly saw the advantage of RAW shooting for image development.
I mainly shot in mode "RAW+Jpeg", though the jpeg is not mandatory: I use it to have a short overview and make the first selection of the file and remove the bad photographs. Indeed, I like "Raw Image Task" [RIT] which reproduces the workflow of the Camera when saving in Jpeg. Therefore, with a CR2 file, it is always possible to recreate the same jpeg the camera would have made. I have tried many Raw converters (trial version), but after all, I am quite happy with Canon "Digital Photo Professional" [DPP] which retrieves the highest sharpness from the Raw files. When I need further work on a photograph (e.g. rotation, I'd like Canon would add a rotate feature in DPP!), I export it as TIF; otherwise as JPEG from DPP. Comparing a jpeg out of RIT and DPP is always impressive: in 100% view, the DPP jpeg delivers much more details.

Anyway, the purpose of this page is about a problem with DPP: it seams that DPP burns somehow the high lights. I've shot about 20 pictures (with either the tamron 17-50 or the canon 70-200) during a vocal jazz concert, and they are all concerned by the problem. Let's take a picture to illustrate the issue. In my workflow, the files and my monitor are all set with sRGB ICC profil.
First, the CR2 file is proceeded in RIT 3.3 and the jpeg resized:
RIT

The same CR2 opened and proceeded in DPP 3.4.1.1 and also resized:
DPP
Look at the yellow background: DPP delivers a white mark instead of a yellow shading. Concerning DPP, it is not only the resulting Jpeg, but also the 100% preview in the software, as you can see here.
DPP3
I've left everything to default, with "faithful" picture style and "shot settings" for the white balance. The red mark is the highlight option enabled. You see the low and high light clipping in the curves
Other RAW converters made their job correctly. It seems Mr. Canon do want me to buy alternative RAW converter!
Yet another development of the picture, with 100% crops, first with default parameters, then with exposition RAW correction set to -2.
Raw Image Task Digital Photo Professional Adobe Camera Raw Capture One Raw Therapee
default RIT DPP ACR C1 RT
exp -2 RIT2 DPP2 ACR2 C12 RT2
DPP is out, ACR produces an uniform yellow mark instead of a white one, thus not much better. RT delivers strange orange graduation. Capture One seems the best here, RIT is not bad at all in this case! RT, ACR and C1 could also gives more with the many settings available, everything is let per default here.
Capture One is a good compromise for a efficient workflow: Adobe products (LR and PS) are too complex for me, RT is too slow, DPP was my favourite until this case but lacks some standard features. I wish Capture One could be even better, e.g. faster by focusing, and with std lens corrections module (à la PTLens)
For further analysis, I've uploaded the CR2 file (8 MB).
